Locum Consultant in Community General Adult Psychiatry Location: Gorwelion Resource Centre, Aberystwyth Salary: £116,600 per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at the North Ceredigion Community Mental Health Team. Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward looking mental health service. The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership as we look to develop our mental health services to meet the population needs of Hywel Dda UHB. To provide, with consultant colleagues (as appropriate) a service in Adult General Community Psychiatry and supporting the development of sub-speciality interest to the hospitals and community so designated with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness. Main duties of the job Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements: To ensure the provision and delivery of a first class clinical service To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Health Board’s service plans Core clinical expertise in Adult General Psychiatry Generic skills in multidisciplinary assessment and community management of acute and chronic mental health problems Experience and knowledge of running a sub specialty service Supporting and training multidisciplinary teams Delivering care in the community alongside primary health care and social care teams Addressing the Intermediate Care Agenda Participating in CPD including Audit Maintain good standing with Royal College for CPD. You are expected to maintain your professional development for Revalidation Educational Supervisor role to Junior and Middle Grade Medical Staff To undertake regular multidisciplinary clinical audit and provide evidence based medicine
