Job responsibilities
The maternity department at Whipps Cross University Hospital is a busy unit with 4000 births in 2023/2024 deliveries. The service has just completed a programme of building work to modernize the maternity unit and create an alongside women's centre where women with the full spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological issues can be seen in specialist clinics.
The Gynaecology department had just over 10,000 first outpatient appointments provided and 483 electives and 755 emergency cases delivered in theatre. The BSCCP Accredited Colposcopy unit receives just over 1250 referrals per year, providing a diagnostic and treatment service. The unit participates and is interested in research.
