Role: Interim Financial Controller
Day rate: Equiv £60k-£70k DOE
Location: Hybrid - split between WFH & Manchester City Centre office
Start Date: ASAP
Length: Expected 8-12 weeks (potential to go perm)
Talent Accountancy & Finance are looking for an Interim Financial Controller to join a growing service business to lead a Finance team and bring the gap between transactional Finance & senior stakeholders/directors.
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading, managing & developing a team, whilst also being pro-active to make an impact immediately
The day rate is equivalent of £60k-£70k salary.
The Role
Key responsibilities:
Overseeing month end reporting - ensuring accurate and timely Management Accountants and reporting packs
Be a key part of M&A activities and perform due diligence to aid decision making as needed
Produce budgets and forecasts with analysis & commentary
Leading a Finance team - being responsible for the development of junior staff
Build & nurture strong internal relationships across departments
Regular business partnering with both Finance and other areas of the business to understand variances to budget & take action on overs/unders
Cashflow forecasting
Identify, design & implement improvements to key metrics and management accounts pack
Suggest process improvements to boost financial performance and enhance controls
Prepare adhoc commercial reporting as required to support business decisions
Prepare draft year-end accounts
Foster strong working relationships with operational teams and group functions
The Person
We're looking for someone who is keen to be highly visible in the business from a Finance standpoint. This person needs to enjoy building relationships non-financial stakeholders and making things happen!
Someone who is willing to back themselves and be accountable for the accurate and timely delivery of Financials within a growing, highly commercial business.
This person will ideally be:
Qualified to CIMA, ACCA or equivalent level - must be at least 3 years post qual on this occasion
Experience within a service business would be great!
A desire to be the go-to person within the business & take pride in learning the nuances of the sector and business - a real go-getter!
Pro-active, takes initiative & self-motivated
Strong management and leadership skills - someone who enjoys allowing a team to grow
