About Us:

We are currently seeking a skilled Workshop Mechanic to join our small team in Derbyshire Dales. This role involves repairing, maintaining, and inspecting all Serco commercial vehicles within our fleet maintenance facilities, in accordance with the Driver Vehicle and Standards Agency “Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness”.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance inspections and repairs on all vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults, using diagnostic equipment to diagnose complex faults.
- In consultation with the Workshop Supervisor and Transport Compliance Manager, ensure all safety inspections are completed on time, including all vehicle statutory obligations.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to confirm roadworthiness.
- Maintain and service all workshop equipment.
- Accurately document all inspections and repairs, both manually and electronically.
- Report all vehicle defects and driver-related damages to contract management staff.
- Work catch-up Saturdays (Only a Saturday following a Bank Holiday)
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Full industry-recognized qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair).
- Category C Driving Licence is desirable.
- Personal Tool Kit.
- Experience maintaining large fleets.
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Resilient, self-aware, and capable of handling challenges.
