Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service works with children aged 10-18 either involved in or at risk of offending or anti-social behaviour. The service provides support to children, their families, victims and communities through enhancing the safety of children and supporting opportunities for them to achieve positive futures.
Being a Social Worker in the Child and Youth Justice Service is a rewarding role. Social Workers in the Operations Team will deliver interventions within the community, custodial establishments and undertake work in Courts. Social Workers in Prevention and Diversion will deliver community based services and will ensure children and their families/carers are supported by delivering effective assessments and interventions to exit the criminal justice system at the earliest opportunity.

The location of the vacancy is Burnley. There is an expectation that when necessary staff will travel to meet service need across the County.
You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
