A high-performing Secondary School in Hull are ready to interview a First Class English Graduate who can confidently support 11-16-year olds studying English as an Academic Mentor.
English Graduates with a 2:1 or higher degree from a Top 20 UK University are encouraged to apply.
This rewarding Academic Mentor role will see you help students build confidence within the subject area and culminate in you helping Year 11 students feel confident going into their GCSEs.

We are looking for assured, ambitious and enthusiastic Graduates to work as an Academic Mentor within English. Students at this school are very well behaved and attentive in their studies, they have high expectations for themselves and are fully engaged with school life.
As the new English Academic Mentor, you will be given your own classroom to tutor small groups of students across Years 7-11. These intervention groups will be decided by the Head of Department for English and will consist of students who have been identified as needing additional support.
This English Academic Mentor role would perfectly suit a Graduate who is considering a career as an English Teacher but wants to gain a solid amount of school experience before applying for Initial Teacher Training.
