About the role… An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Technical and Bereavement Services. This post is a Volunteer Coordinator. The key role of this post is to support the current Environmental Volunteer Groups that operate within the Borough as well as increasing Environmental Volunteering participation in developing and supporting new Volunteer groups. As part of the role, you will work with a team within Technical Services who deal with complaints, service requests and repairs & maintenance within the Councils Parks and Open Spaces. As part of that team, you will be required to assist in effectively dealing with these issues. The location will be across the Borough of Gateshead however you will be based at the Park Road Depot. Hybrid and flexible working can be discussed prior to completing the application process. You must have knowledge of Environmental Volunteering with the Borough and of the Volunteering Sector overall. This will include good knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation that ensures Volunteer groups are complying. You must be able to work as part of a team and be able to prioritise your workload. You must be able to communicate clearly and politely and express ideas and information clearly.
