PATHWAY LEAD - THRIVE
Actual Salary: £22,347 per annum (Grade 4, Point 6)*
*subject to 2024/25 pay award
37.5 hours per week (8.00-16.00), Term time + 1 week
Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby is passionate about learning in its widest sense. Our mission is to ensure that our pupils value and enjoy their learning inside and outside the classroom.
The ADAPT and THRIVE provisions are two of our alternative pathways and a fundamental part of our pastoral support. The provisions support KS4 / KS3 learners, who have a variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and require a more bespoke environment to access a broad and balanced curriculum.
Aims of Post of Responsibility: To support the Head of Pathways, with passion and creativity, in the mentoring and support of pupils in the THRIVE provision (KS3), promoting whole school ethos and practice. Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies in line with the Academy’s vision and values.
Responsible to: Head of Pathways, and ultimately to the Principal
Specific Academic Responsibilities
1. Deliver small group or full class lessons.
2. Monitor progress data.
3. Collate missed learning activities for absent pupils and support them to catch up, with a particular focus on core knowledge for that topic.
4. Run homework and academic intervention clinics as required for pupils in THRIVE.
5. Liaise with Academic mentors and delegate intervention tasks to them, both within the class and as a targeted 1-1 or small group intervention.
6. Analyse data and identify pupils in need of further academic support to improve progress.
7. Liaise and communicate with teachers, parents and mentors to improve and support pupil’s academic achievement and welfare.
8. Support THRIVE pupils with successfully accessing the lessons they are timetabled to attend in main school.
9. Support the transition of pupils back to full time main school lessons (THRIVE).
10. Liaise regularly with main school classroom teachers to evaluate pupil engagement and success in their lessons (THRIVE).
11. Attend regular meetings as required.
Specific Pastoral Responsibilities
1. Work with the attendance team, pupil and parents to raise pupil attendance within THRIVE to help improve and sustain whole school attendance.
2. Analyse behaviour data and help embed pastoral support for pupils and their families.
3. Signpost pupils to targeted intervention sessions to support with self-regulation as required.
4. Plan and deliver a range of mentor time activities and assemblies that reflect pupil needs and interests.
5. Liaise and communicate with teachers, parents and mentors to improve and support pupil’s welfare.
6. Attend regular meetings as required.
