Purpose of the role: To provide efficient and effective support to the finance manager. Effective management of the purchase and sales ledger to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of invoices.
The key elements of the role are:
* Assist with the preparation of the weekly management accounts, including:
o Reconciliation of weekly sales figures
o Preparation of weekly cost of sales, packaging, transport, and labour figures
o Preparation of rolling overhead figures
* Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
* Accounts receivable control
* Management of a team of two finance assistants who process accounts payable and bank
* Provide data to operations and commercial teams to assist with decision making
* Support and cover the wider finance team during periods of annual leave or absence
* Champion KPI improvement in the department
* Encourage, organise, and apply continuous improvement techniques and processes
* Be actively involved in the continuous improvement goals and objectives
* Deliver quality and accuracy in own work and in that of the team
* Ensure that the department operates to the correct working standard
* Produce accurate written and numerical information in the correct format
* Take positive corrective action when standards are not met
* Understand the effect of shifts performance on internal/external customers
* Able to communicate knowledgeably and effectively with external customers
