NRL’s Civils client is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis at their offices in Golborne.
The Design Engineer is required to join the infrastructure division as part of an exciting opportunity within an expanding team. You will work within the growing and tight knit engineering department in the delivery of construction related designs, R projects and project design input.
About the role:
1. Produce layouts and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other 3D CAD packages
2. Contributing to the design and development of products and solutions including construction specific structural design solutions (temporary works)
3. Develop new design methods and processes.
4. Leading R projects
5. Liaise with clients and third parties as part of the design process.
6. To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and look for areas of improvement continuously.
7. Occasional travel within the UK to various site locations
8. To maintain confidentiality, observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
9. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the department head.
What you will need:
10. Minimum BEng degree qualification in relevant Engineering Discipline ( Civil, Mechanical or similar)
11. Experience in relevant design engineering role or similar
12. Capable of producing designs including relevant calculations in design reports for stakeholder reviews.
13. Must be computer literate and proficient using Microsoft Office.
14. Experienced and confident in using 2D and 3D CAD packages.
15. Ability to challenge existing practices and propose new solutions to senior management.
16. Ability to discuss complex technical issues and with key stakeholders - ability to persuade and influence
17. Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team.
18. Full UK Driving Licence.
19. Ideally experienced with codes of practice for concrete and steel work design (EN & BS codes)
