Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dedicated individual with a strong focus on training to join our Manual Handling Services team.
Working as part of a wider Clinical Education Team, the successful applicant will be able to enhance their knowledge and skills through the delivery of a comprehensive training programme and completion of workplace assessments.
Applicants must have care experience in an acute care setting, and have a keen interest in all aspects of Manual Handling.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Clinical Education Manager and Manual Handling Advisor, the Manual Handling Trainer will ensure the provision of high quality manual handling training throughout the Trust.
The Manual Handling Trainer will contribute towards ensuring that manual handling education remains within local and national guidelines, whilst maintaining and promoting Trust policies and procedures. They will maintain patient safety and infection control as consistent threads underpinning all training.
Provide advice, guidance and support to staff Trust wide on manual handling training and education issues.
To make a collective contribution to the Education Department function.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
1. Significant experience of working in a direct patient care role within an acute care setting.
2. Experience of participating in a full range of patient handling techniques within the last three years.
3. Experience of teaching in a formal or informal capacity.
Qualifications/Training
Essential
1. Qualification in care at NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent).
2. Experience of cascading and sharing information, knowledge, skills, learning to others individually, in small groups or meetings.
Personal Attributes & Skills
Essential
1. Conveys written and verbal information clearly and accurately to a wide range of individuals.
2. Good IT skills.
3. Able to accommodate the demands of the post with flexible working across all trust sites.
