Laboratory Scientist – Biochemistry | Hawke's Bay Hospital | Full-Time (1.0FTE)
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Laboratory Scientist to join our Biochemistry team at Hawke’s Bay Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team providing essential diagnostic services to our community.

About the Role
As a Laboratory Scientist in the Biochemistry department, you will be responsible for:
1. Performing high-quality diagnostic testing in a busy laboratory environment.
2. Ensuring accurate and timely processing of samples to support clinical decision-making.
3. Maintaining quality control and adhering to laboratory protocols and accreditation standards.
4. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible patient outcomes.
5. Engaging in ongoing professional development and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Biochemistry team is a vital part of the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Laboratory, providing critical diagnostic services to the region. You will be joining a supportive and experienced team dedicated to excellence in patient care and laboratory science.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
1. Hold a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science and be registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
2. Have experience in Biochemistry or a related field.
3. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Be detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
5. Work effectively in a team and communicate well with colleagues and clinical staff.
6. Be adaptable and open to continuous learning and development.
