Production Engineer The Production Engineer is responsible for providing production engineering solutions and technical support to the Manufacturing team and to support estimates and engineering development work where required. Location : Wimborne, UK Your Challenge: - To ensure Production Engineering commitments are met regarding the required cost, quality and schedule - Assist in the identification, generation and support of manufacturing metrics - To ensure our customers and stakeholders (e.g. Manufacturing Manager and Project Managers) are regularly updated with task progress, new issues, programme risks, technical risks, and estimates to complete - To support manufacturing estimates for bids and provide timely and accurate information regarding manufacturing readiness and feasibility, tooling and equipment requirements and costs, and assembly and test operation times - To support the Engineering team in product design and creation of robust drawing/documentation packs ensuring they contain complete and accurate information that meets customer and manufacturing requirements - To improve and facilitate the smooth flow of production build and test activities, without delays or errors, by supporting the accurate creation of manufacturing routings, Bills of Materials, Assembly Information for Manufacture (AIM) documents and other process instructions as may be required to support error-free production, and to review each job to ensure availability of full and correct technical documentation - To investigate and support the resolution of production related issues as they arise and to complete the necessary escalation forms of further Engineering investigation if require - To be innovative in solving problems and be aware of relevant new technologies/processes and to support the introduction of these new technologies/processes accordingly - To propose, implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives such as lean shop floor layouts and propose any new capital equipment requirements production and test areas What You Bring: - Eligible to work in the UK - Able to attain UKSV SC security clearance - HNC/HND qualified in an engineering related discipline (desirable) or extensive experience providing production engineering support to Manufacturing department - Experience working with a variety of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques related to electrical and/or mechanical manufacturing - Knowledge of related engineering disciplines with the ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wiring schedules, mechanical part/assembly drawings - Experience working with BoMs and manufacturing routings within an ERP/MRP system - Experience designing jigs and fixtures (3D CAD experience preferable) - Skilled computer user, proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio are necessary) - Ability to provide accurate cost and timescale estimates to support bid, project and manufacturing activities - Ability to support technical proposals and compile assembly instructions or engineering reports Who We Are Ultra Energy is a global engineering and design manufacture leader with just over six decades of experience designing for heavily regulated markets, such as nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas, and more.
