Are you driven by a passion for motorsport and eager to be at the forefront of racing innovation? Williams is looking for a skilled Travelling Component Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the assembly, servicing, and signing off assemblies required for the running of race, test, PR and customer cars and rigs. You will also provide event support ensuring all assemblies and spares are maintained and available to aid the operation of the race team.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Build, strip and service WF1 and customer components to a consistent high standard of competitiveness, safety, and reliability, ensuring all assemblies conform to current Engineering and Manufacturing policies and procedures and meet deadlines.
2. Critically evaluate all components during assembly and disassembly, ensuring their integrity and reporting all faults.
3. Operate pass-off and test rigs as required.
4. Highlight any assembly/quality issues to team leaders/supervisor as soon as possible and proactively engage in resolutions/problem solving.
5. Maintain the Component Assembly race kit ensuring adequate stock of spares, consumables and tooling is available and of correct specification.
6. Assist in garage preparation and additional duties as directed by the Chief Mechanic during events.
7. Ensure that all build and component information is recorded and maintained as required in relevant systems.
8. Ensure the Component Assembly work environment and equipment is maintained to the highest standards of tidiness, presentation, and safety.
We are looking for a Travelling Component Assembly Technician with the following skills and experience:
1. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within motorsport and a fast-paced environment.
2. Ability to build assemblies and sub-assemblies using technical drawings.
3. Previous experience using lifting systems is advantageous.
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
6. Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
7. A team player with excellent communication skills, ready to collaborate and contribute to a supportive and dynamic team environment.
8. Willingness to travel to events internationally.
