This role has significant breadth and provides latitude to impact geophysics in both operated and non-operated acreage. The assets worked by the EH Regions team are mostly gas so connections to other gas fields in BP’s portfolio are important to ensure that reservoir performance in relevant fields is considered and risked. Progressing the ‘4D in gas’ agenda is an important technical element. Most notably in the Nile Delta, this role allows the DL to drive a seismic strategy in service of the business results, test and implement new technologies and to ensure lessons learnt are shared across the entire basin with Exploration, and we influence our Operators. Flexibility to find solutions is also required in areas like the Middle East (ME) where we do not have dedicated geophysical support, but we have decisions that require geophysical input. It is likely, with recent Discovered Resource Organisation projects that the ME will be a larger part of this team’s portfolio. The DL has a primary reporting line to the DM of Geophysics and works closely with Unit leaders, Area Development Managers, the DLs of other disciplines and Squad Leads of teams within the Regions and Operated By Others (OBO) to deliver the business priorities. Currently this role covers personnel working in parts of the Nile Delta (Operated and non-Operated acreage), Block 61 in Oman, and OBO assets (in Abu Dhabi and India). This will consider the aspirations of the individual (in the short-medium and long term) and the business needs and will be held in accordance with guidelines. This will include finding development opportunities for team members or the chance to work on ITK projects. Equity to Geophysicists from MENA countries. This should include developing potential successors for the DL role in 2/3 years’ time. The DL should build strong relationships with the regional ADMs and work together to correctly define the ToRs for the work along with the resources and durations required to deliver the priorities.
