Job summary The ACP trainee undertakes 'on the job' training alongside a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The clinical aspect intends to build on the theoretical aspects of the MSc course and evolves over the first two years of the course. This pivotal stage emphasises the integration of clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and leadership. Individuals at this stage will engage in complex case management while working closely and under supervision of senior ACP's and consultants. Developing diagnostic acumen, therapeutic interventions, and communication skills, preparing them to work as autonomous practitioners once qualified. Under supervision, The post holder will contribute to service provision and take a lead role in the advanced clinical assessment and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of children requiring unscheduled care, who may have highly complex acute presentation from the very sick seriously ill or injured child to the more minor common childhood illnesses and accidents. With support from senior clinical colleagues they will develop skills in determining clinical diagnosis and treatments indicated and maintain records. They will receive supervision from a senior paediatric ACP or consultant until qualification. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide expert clinical expertise for developing and enhancing the service. This will be done in collaboration with healthcare colleagues. They will ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, Trust and externally as appropriate.
