What you will do in your working day
* Gain practical experience in working safely and efficiently within an engineering environment
* Conduct regular assessments and checks to ensure work meets quality standards and learn from feedback
* Maintain and repair equipment with industrial drives and control systems (CNC/PLC)
* Assist with preventative maintenance, installation, overhaul and repair of equipment to statutory requirements
* Support with the coordination of project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation and commissioning
* Engage and contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance assembly processes and product quality
* Supporting the quality requirements, covering all inputs and controls across the Aerospace / Automotive Quality process
* Set up and run components using CNC bend machines, end forming machines, power presses, ensuring all products conform to quality standards
* Display a pro-active, can-do attitude within the company, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems
* Upon completion of the apprenticeship you will have the knowledge of the processes and equipment associated with the manipulation and joining techniques used in the manufacure of tubular assemblies in materials such as Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Titanium and Inconel, and coordinate all project elements including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, installation commissioning and final buy-off phases.
The training you will be getting
* This is a 3 year Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification - Technical Support pathway
* You will be required to attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, on a full time basis for the first 12 months to undertake a variety of engineering training and theory work
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, there will be an opportunity to stay on in a full-time, permanent position as an Engineering Technician. You can progress through the organisation structure with progression onto a HNC in engineering and BEng Degree.
