West Lothian Council's Justice Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Social Worker to the Community Payback Order team. This dynamic team is responsible for the supervision of Court Orders for all individuals over the age of twenty-one, with the successful candidates being expected to manage a diverse, complex, and challenging caseload, displaying an ability to work collaboratively with service providers while adopting a trauma-informed approach when engaging with service users.
While primarily based within the Community Payback Order team, the successful candidates will be expected to work across the wider Justice Service Teams to meet the exigencies of the service. Candidates must meet the essential criteria:
* BA in Social Work or other approved recognised Social Work qualification.
* Good understanding of the challenges of the client group.
* Must be prepared to work with violent and sexual offenders.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulates you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
