This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

Skills & Experience
* Carrying out vehicle maintenance/repair
* Testing, diagnosing, and resolving faults
* Working on electrical and mechanical systems
* Dealing with unplanned emergency repairs which on occasion may include remote working.
* Inspecting components for wear and tear
* Commissioning and decommissioning vehicles, including the installation and removal of specialist Police Enforcement Equipment.
This opportunity will enable you to maintain and improve your skills, with a focus on meeting training objectives. We will also encourage your ideas on how we can support our policing colleagues through improvements to vehicle maintenance.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess:
* The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment
* The capability of working to the highest quality standards
* Experience of working within a quality driven environment
* Be a great team player and communication skills
* Maintain high standards of house-keeping
* Level 3 minimum Vehicle Maintenance & Repair NVQ or equivalent
* UK Driver’s license is desirable, but not essential.
