A leading engineering business involved in the maintenance and repair of light rail stock is recruiting a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Operating from a depot in Kilmarnock, they provide mobile services to the rail industry. THE ROLE: This is a ‘hands on’ role, the where you will be responsible for carrying out fault finding and preventative maintenance on buildings, plant, and equipment. This will include: Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise. Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and components. Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and leadership in daily tasks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve processes. Hours are 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 1.30pm Friday. KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively. Ability to complete remedial repair work in line with statutory and legal requirements. Proficiency in electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with reading schematics and technical drawings.
