Support Worker: Homelessness LOCATION: TruroHOURS: 37.5 Hours per weekSALARY: £20,027 - £22,252DURATION: 29.6 HoursContract: PermAre you dedicated to making a real difference in the community? We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join a leading housing association on a temporary basis. As a Homelessness Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to individuals experiencing homelessness, empowering them to regain independence and rebuild their lives.
* Develop, review, and update support plans and risk assessments.
* Take a holistic approach to support, helping people achieve their goals and move towards independence.
* Work closely with other agencies to address specific needs, including mental health, substance misuse, and benefits.
* Assist clients in exploring options around education, training, and employment.
* Provide high-quality support to help clients maintain their homes and tenancies.
* Take a positive approach towards risk management and problem-solving.
Preferred Requirements:
* Have an understanding of support needs and support planning.
* Have experience of risk assessing and risk management.
* Be a great communicator with the ability to build a rapport.
* Have accurate record keeping and computer skills.
* Confident in lone working and be a good team player.
* Have a flexible approach to work.
* Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Be resilient and adaptable.
* Have an open, friendly personality and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
* Certification in Mental Health First Aid or an equivalent mental health support qualification.
* Full driving license (desirable).
