Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join Conwy Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial control.
* Provide financial advice and reports to service managers and stakeholders.
* Support financial year-end processes, including account closures.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax policies, and audit requirements.
* Maintain financial systems and support treasury management processes.
* Assist with grant management and government financial returns.
What We’re Looking For:
* Part-qualified Accounting Technician or relevant experience in finance.
* Strong knowledge of financial systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Excellent communication and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
* Knowledge of local government finance (desirable).
* Welsh language skills (desirable).
