JMC Aviation are working with an MRO company based in Prestwick, looking to recruit a new Check Manager to join their team. This client is an international line and base maintenance provider, operating a comprehensive level of support for commercial aircraft operators. As an independent MRO, they are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support. This is a Permanent Position based in Prestwick. 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday (07:00 - 17:30). Other Duties Involve Ensure the on-time delivery of customer aircraft within the agreed budget, meeting required standards and customer expectations. Utilise C-certification privileges to issue the Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) following base maintenance input. Oversee the management of customer work packs and all related documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures, ensuring accurate CRS issuance post-maintenance. Collaborate with the Project Manager, Planning Engineer, and Purchasing teams during the initial planning phase to optimise work scheduling and resource allocation. Identify potential risks and delays in the maintenance process and implement mitigation strategies to ensure minimal disruption. Ensure high standards of documentation and handovers, adhering to company policies and regulatory standards. Work closely with the Shift Supervisor to review, allocate, and maximise efficient manpower utilisation. Ensure accurate and effective use of the MRO system, maintaining data integrity for all maintenance activities. Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports through performance appraisals, competency assessments, and training initiatives. Provide guidance on complex maintenance tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and liaising with engineering teams as required. Lead investigations into maintenance-related incidents or delays, producing reports and recommending preventative measures. Ensure full compliance with EASA Part 145, Part M, and Part 66 regulations, as well as company policies and industry best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety requirements, with a focus on working at height, plant and machinery operation, and overall aircraft maintenance safety. Adhere to quality management standards, legal requirements, and environmental policies, ensuring the highest levels of airworthiness, safety, and performance in all maintenance activities. Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role Hold and maintain a valid authorisation In order to be successful in this role the Job title will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar UK CAA and EASA Part 66 Licence, B1 or B2 and C Licence holder on at least 2 aircraft types on company's approval (A330/A320/B787/B737) Extensive management experience within P145 base maintenance, preferably managing other Licensed Engineers Hands on experience of certifying Aircraft with an EASA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation Full understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145 Experience of managing departmental Health & Safety & Compliance Completed IOSH managing safely course If you think this is the role for you and you have the necessary skills and attributes, please apply today or contact JMC Recruitment for more details.
