About Stockport County & Edgeley Park Founded in 1883, Stockport County are one of the countrys longest established football clubs. Initially formed as Heaton Norris Rovers, the Club officially became Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport and have been based at Edgeley Park since 1902. Role Overview We are seeking a talented Sales Manager to join our dynamic commercial team. The role of Sales Manager is to be responsible for both inbound and outbound sales for Edgeley Park Conference & Events business. Creating outbound leads, generating new business, and converting inbound enquires. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain new business through networking and direct client relationships. Develop great relationships with new and existing businesses. Conduct regular face to face appointments to grow and source new business. Hold site visits and client entertainment as required. Be constantly innovative and forward-thinking in the way in which the sales and brand message is relayed to clients to stand out amongst our competitors. Continually develop new knowledge and skills to ensure best practice sales delivery. Represent the brand in a professional, proactive manner. Candidate Requirements: Essential Have experience working within a complex business environment. Have excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets, with a strong track record of achieving and driving revenue growth. Experience in managing and leading a sales team, including coaching, mentoring, and fostering a high-performance culture. Strong experience working collaboratively with marketing and events departments to develop and implement strategies that drive sales and brand visibility. Extensive experience in networking and building strong relationships with local businesses and key stakeholders to enhance business opportunities. Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to influence and build trust with customers and internal teams. Ability to think strategically and implement initiatives that align with overall company goals while driving sales performance. A proactive, results-oriented approach with a focus on exceeding sales quotas and contributing to company growth. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a flexible approach to problem-solving and managing change.
