An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Body Camp as our Financial Controller.
About the role
The Body Camp runs transformational wellness retreats with the main resort in Spain, supplemented with winter pop-ups in locations such as Morocco, Thailand or Indonesia.
As the senior financial person in our team, you will have operational responsibility for the management of our Cheshire office. It will be your responsibility to prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports. You will assist the Board in developing the overall company strategy and provide ongoing monitoring and reporting, focused on agreed targets.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you would be responsible for the draft preparation of all financial information for both the UK company and its Spanish branch. This involves daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad-hoc reports. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT and other tax filings, payroll and management of debtor and creditor ledgers.
You will be responsible for the accurate recording of base information and cross-charges supporting the filing of Spanish tax filings for the local branch including IVA (Spanish VAT equivalent). Please note it is not essential for you to have experience in Spanish accounting - external accountants in Spain make the filings locally but rely on the accuracy of the data you provide.

Ideally you will have:
Qualified ACA, ACCA or ACMA
Significant management experience
Proven ability in accounts, budgetary and cashflow preparation
Xero experience
Flexibility and adaptability to multitask on a range of different tasks and to prioritise daily workloads
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Attention to detail and technically strong
Honesty and reliability
Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.
Spanish language capability
