Job Description
Ideal candidate will be looking after South West & Midlands as a Technical Service Manager, so can live in either place or between the two.
Key Purpose of the Job:
Service and maintenance of Intruder Detection, CCTV, and Access Control systems, along with maintenance of electronic fire alarm systems in accordance with current standards. Assist the REM in recruiting, retaining, motivating, and developing the regional Engineering team. Support Supervisors and Engineers to deliver high standards of customer service, maximize profitability, and meet KPI targets.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance of intruder, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems, including fault finding.
2. Support Engineers and Supervisors technically and resolve issues onsite.
3. Mentor Engineers and identify training needs.
4. Deliver maintenance and fault-finding KPIs, such as first-time fix rates.
5. Audit engineers and subcontractors for compliance, including H&S.
6. Drive improvements within the regional team and contribute to broader business goals.
7. Assist with on-call rota and provide remote support.
8. Participate in performance appraisals and system demonstrations for clients.
9. Assist with service/project planning and implementation.
10. Support service delivery and provide detailed reports and feedback.
11. Provide management cover in the absence of the REM.
12. Ensure health, safety, and welfare standards are maintained.
Requirements
Essential:
* Effective communication skills.
* High-level fault-finding skills and proven first-time fix rates.
* Experience in security and fire engineering.
* Knowledge of intruder panels (e.g., Galaxy, Menvier, Scantronic).
* Experience with network/IP-based products.
* Experience in service repair work.
* Knowledge of fire systems and relevant standards (BS5839, NACP).
* Full driving license.
Desirable:
* Advanced fire alarm and security systems knowledge.
* Electrical or electronic background.
* Experience supervising or managing teams.
