Rotork in Leeds are providing a great opportunity for a hardworking individual to become a fully skilled maintenance engineer. Over the 4 year apprenticeship, you will train to be competent in electromechanical maintenance carrying out inspections and repairs of actuators. Candidates must be 18 years or older.

What you’ll do at work
Candidates must be 18 years or older.
Apprentice responsibilities:
* Complete all health and safety training and documentation requirements
* Participate in learning opportunities in the workshop, field and manufacturing facilities
* Adhere to the apprenticeship programme and follow the rotation plan
* Produce the relevant documentary evidence of learning in the workplace
* Attend Appris on day release schedule; 2 days per week in year 1 and 1 day per week in year 2
* Complete all training centre-based and non-vocational qualifications associated with the apprenticeship, to attain a level 3 maintenance and operations engineering technician qualification.
* Regularly report to line management and training provider regarding work and learning progress
* Be willing to travel within the UK and internationally and be willing to drive / learn to drive
Key role responsibilities and learning outcomes:
* To be responsible for the health and safety of yourself and the workplace
* To produce / review risk assessments and method statements in line with site requirements
* Receive all manufacturers’ actuators and gearboxes, clean, disassemble and determine their condition. Create a report listing the labour and materials necessary to carry out the repair or overhaul. Prepare a quotation based on these results.
* Carry out the repair/overhaul and test the unit on the workshop test rig prior to creating and issuing a new test certificate.
* Carry out factory fitting of valves/actuators
* To carry out detailed site surveys gathering all details required to enable manufacture of adaption components for site installations
* Carry out mechanical / electrical installation of actuators and associated retrofit adaption components, pedestals, drive shafts and commission the actuator
* To identify faults, repair and test actuators in the field
* To modify or upgrade actuators in the field
* To produce good quality site visit reports for each job in a timely manner
* Learn how to assemble electrohydraulic, electro-mechanical, electric actuators and gearboxes

* Year 1 - 2 day per week at Appris Training Centre, Bradford, studying a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence - Electromechanical Engineering) and BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge - Electrical Engineering)
* Years 2 - 1 day per week at Appris Training Centre, Bradford, studying a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge - Electrical Engineering)
* Year 1 to Year 4 - Workplace learning: Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
Internal training, development and mentoring with highly skilled engineers in a variety of project and support based areas and other engineering related duties and requirements. This will meet the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) required for the apprenticeship.
In your 4th Year, you will continue to work towards your occupational competency in engineering and prepare for independent end-point assessments.
