SEN Teaching Assistant – High Peak

Salary: £89 - £100 per day
Are you passionate about making a difference in students' lives? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school in the High Peak. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential.
The Role:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
* Assisting teachers in adapting lesson content to accommodate individual learning styles.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being by using de-escalation techniques and fostering a nurturing classroom environment.
* Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
* Collaborating with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to implement effective learning strategies.
* Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and activities that cater to students with diverse needs.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience supporting SEN students in a secondary school or similar setting.
* A caring, patient, and adaptable approach, with a strong ability to build rapport with students.
* Understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
* Experience with behaviour management strategies and a proactive approach to supporting students' emotional and academic progress.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, CACHE, or Psychology/SEN-related degree) is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, working closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
