The Role
As the Academic Registrar at the London College Contemporary of Arts (LCCA), you will be pivotal in delivering the College's Education and Student Experience strategic ambitions, which are crucial to achieving our overall corporate goals. The landscape of UK education is rapidly evolving, and we need a dynamic individual to lead our Academic Registry services, optimizing resources to provide exceptional, proactive, and responsive support for students and staff across the College.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and implement the strategy, staffing structure, and resources for the Academic Registry, ensuring alignment with the College Strategy and successful attainment of service objectives.
o Design and deliver exemplary Academic Registry services throughout the student lifecycle, from recruitment to graduation, utilizing a hub operating model and benchmarking against best practices.
2. Operational Excellence:
o Ensure efficient and effective enrolment and re-enrolment processes to support student recruitment, admission, and retention.
o Oversee the timetabling of teaching and other key events, ensuring efficient resource use and reliable information for students and staff.
3. Student Support:
o Document and streamline processes that support the student journey, fostering strong collaboration with academic and administrative staff.
o Manage individual student issues, including mitigating circumstances, complaints, and appeals, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
o Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and quality of student record data, supporting regulatory compliance and strategic planning.
4. Leadership and Management:
o Line manage senior staff, ensuring effective recruitment, induction, management, development, and appraisal within your team.
o Play an active role in the Senior Management Team (SMT), contributing to the overall strategic direction of the College.
o Oversee risk management, presenting annual business cases for the Registry.
5. Compliance and Governance:
o Ensure compliance with regulations from the Office for Students (OFS) and other relevant bodies.
o Oversee academic governance and committee operations, maintaining the frameworks necessary for the College’s operation and development.
o Lead student information-related IT projects, ensuring robust and appropriate data systems.
6. Communication and Stakeholder Management:
o Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external, representing the College as required.
o Provide senior-level advice on procedures and individual cases relating to student rights and responsibilities.
