Mechanical Project Engineer Location: London – Heathrow Compensation: £45k – £50k Working Format: Hybrid (3 office days, 2 home days) About the Role: MJM are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mechanical Project Engineer to join a successful team, working on exciting Airport Projects. This role offers a great opportunity to develop and engineer designs for automated material handling systems, contributing directly to impactful projects across the UK and abroad. If you have experience in automated material handling systems and are ready to tackle diverse projects, this could be the perfect role for you Key Responsibilities: Design & Engineering: Work on the mechanical design and layout of systems such as baggage, parcels, warehouse, and conveyor systems. Ensure designs meet safety standards and regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, customers, and consultants to coordinate and refine design plans. Strong customer liaison and on-site presence required. Technical Expertise: Proficient in 2D & 3D AutoCAD, Navisworks (Clash Detection), Revit, and BIM. Experience with building interfaces, steelwork, and mezzanines is a plus. Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate project uncertainties through effective risk assessments. Innovation & Learning: Continuously improve designs and processes, with opportunities for professional growth and learning. Project Management: Ensure that engineered system designs are manufacturable within budget and manage third-party equipment coordination. Requirements: Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in automated material handling systems (e.g. baggage, parcels, conveyors). Skills: Knowledge of machinery safety standards, ability to work independently or within a team, and familiarity with risk assessments and engineering planning. Tools: Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), and experience with Navisworks, Revit, or BIM would be beneficial. Location: UK-based, with the right to work in the UK. Some travel may be required (UK & abroad).
