Responsibilities
1. You’ll learn new engineering skills in installing, terminating, testing, and certifying network cable and fibre optic infrastructure components in a Data Centre environment.
2. You will be trained to assist in installing floor-mounted communication cabinets and server racks within data halls, as well as ICT blanking and cable management tasks for hot and cold aisle containment operations.
3. You will perform cable moves and changes to existing systems under supervision. This includes working with engineers to patch data & server cabinets according to client spreadsheets, patching schedules, and cabinet layouts, ensuring all Add/Moves/Changes (A/M/C) are approved, correctly recorded, labelled, and reported.
4. You must work safely and adhere to Health & Safety regulations at all times.
5. You will be an integral part of our delivery team, representing North professionally.
6. You will be paired with an engineer to ensure work is completed safely and to high standards.
Qualifications
For development purposes, the following knowledge, skills, and experience are required:
* Knowledge or experience with structured cabling and fibre optics is advantageous, but training will be provided.
* We seek someone who fits our company culture and contributes positively to our environment. A positive, can-do attitude is essential.
* Enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving.
* Self-motivated and proactive.
* Strong communication skills are essential, especially as this is a visible role. Punctuality and energy in a fast-paced environment are also important.
* An SC Security Level Clearance check is required; applicants must be over 18 years old. Existing clearance is advantageous but can be facilitated for the right candidate.
* A full driving license held for at least 12 months is beneficial.
