Responsibilities
1. Visit all jobs required to fully evaluate the project in hand and to gain an initial overview of the contract, in addition to taking relevant measurements for the estimator to price.
2. Relay details to the contract manager of potential concerns, issues, positive aspects, client expectations, standards required, start and mobilisation requirements.
3. Note measures in a methodical fashion to allow other parties to follow the sequence should that be required.
4. Create a programme of work in collaboration with the contract manager and share regularly with the client.
Financial Management
1. Ensure comprehensive management of all financial aspects of the contract under remit.
2. Communicate clearly identified objectives that are project-specific to the whole team, assisting with successful service delivery.
3. Discuss available budget, cost options, projected values, and cashflow forecast with the client.
4. Advise the client on longer lifecycle and value engineering where cost savings can be made.
5. Agree on payment mechanisms and various options.
6. Submit regular valuation reports to allow the team to monitor spend.
7. Carry out an annual exercise to demonstrate best value to the client (may involve KPI report).
8. Stay on top of variations and communicate all to the project team, ensuring they are captured.
9. Collaborate daily with the contract manager to ensure all works are in line with schedule and that the client is invoiced for only works completed to full satisfaction, without defects.
