Our client is a high-quality main contractor that offers construction solutions for the public sector. With a strong focus on refurbishment, new builds, and fire protection works, they are dedicated to excellence and innovation in every project. They are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of the quantity surveying process from pre-contract through to project completion.
2. Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
3. Conduct value engineering and risk assessments to ensure project viability.
4. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships.
5. Monitor project progress and implement cost control measures to maximize profitability.
6. Oversee and mentor junior quantity surveying staff, providing guidance and support.
7. Prepare and submit progress reports, valuations, and final accounts.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (MRICS or equivalent preferred).
2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, specifically within the construction sector.
3. Proven track record in managing projects in refurbishment, new builds, or fire protection works, particularly in the public sector.
4. Strong analytical and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
5. Proficient in relevant software and tools (e.g., CostX, Excel, and project management software).
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
