Senior Fund Accountant (Traditional Funds) - Chelmsford
Responsibility for the oversight of regulatory reporting for Unit Trusts, OEIC’s and Investment Trusts, ensuring that all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time in accordance with regulatory and client service level agreements and agreed quality standards. An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Senior Fund Accountant in our Chelmsford office.
The Senior Fund Accountant will be expected to:
1. Responsible for the review and oversight of OEIC, Unit Trust & Investment Trust interim and annual report and accounts.
2. To liaise with, manage and assist the offshore team with any queries of the ACD, Depositary, Company Secretariat and Auditors.
3. Review distribution calculations prepared by our offshore team.
4. To review income forecasting, investment restrictions & investment performance summaries.
5. Review the monthly Depositary packs, and assist in the answer of queries alongside the offshore team.
6. Review of monthly AIC returns and processing Directors payroll.
7. Review of quarterly and annual ONS returns.
8. To assist in the take on of new clients and fund launches/closures/mergers and to implement changes for new investment types, fund launches and share classes.
9. Review Ongoing Charges figures.
10. Participate in the development, testing and implementation of new systems and products.
11. Assist in the continuous review and development of the processes and associated internal controls operating in and around the fund accounting department.
12. Assist in the development and training requirements of the offshore team.
13. Review of quarterly VAT and annual CT600 tax returns.
14. Review invoices for ACD, Registrar, Management fees and Total Expense Rebate.
Skills
Experience and financial reporting knowledge of both open-ended and closed-ended funds gained from within the financial services sector.
Securities administration and financial reporting experience for fund types including Investment Trusts, OEICs and UT’s.
Requirement to gain a thorough understanding of all funds.
The individual will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and able to work to and meet tight deadlines as well as being able to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
It is essential the candidate is reliable and flexible as far as working hours are required.
Good communication skills and ability to communicate well at all levels both internally and externally.
Excellent computer skills, in particular Excel, are an essential requirement.
