I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a MOTIVATED and PASSIONATE individual to join a children's residential service in the area of Cwmbran as a Children's Residential Support Worker for young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and committed individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
No two days are ever the same as a children's support worker, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but gratifying work!
* Hours: 40 hours per week
* Contract: Full Time
* Shift pattern: 3-week rolling rota (x10 24-hour shifts per month)
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**

Responsibilities of the Children's Residential Support Worker:
* Encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age
* Keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
* Be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
* Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
* Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
* Maintain a safe environment for young people.
* Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
* Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements for the Children's Residential Support Worker:
* Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
* Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
* You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people.
* You must be over the age of 25.
* You must be able to commute to Cwmbran.
