JOB SUMMARY
Perform a full range of emergency response duties to include fire suppression, hazardous materials response, specialized rescue, and manmade/natural disaster response.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responds to aircraft incidents and emergencies, structural alarms and emergencies, grass or brushfires that may threaten the loss of life or government property, automotive/vehicle fires or accidents, and petroleum, oils, and lubricant POL fires or spills limited to hazardous materials operational level response.
2. Drives and inspects fire department vehicles; operates firefighting equipment and tools.
3. Exercises judgment, and initiative; receives and executes direction from Crew Chief or another senior member.
4. Completes daily work assignments.
5. Maintain firefighting vehicles and equipment per manufacturer’s recommendation.
6. Maintain living quarters and the fire station's overall appearance.
7. Other duties as assigned by management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
8. At least 4 (four) years of relevant experience is desired.
9. IFSAC or ProBoard certification to included Airport Firefighter, Driver/Operator ARFF, Driver/Operator Pumper, Driver/Operator Mobile Water Supply, Hazardous Material Operations, and Telecommunicator I/II.
10. Interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships.
11. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
12. Communicates effectively in writing, on the telephone, and in person.
13. Valid home-of-record driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
14. Physical requirements may include lifting up to 35 lbs., team lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, extended standing, stretching, or bending.
15. Ability to sit and concentrate for extended periods, but also have the mobility to respond immediately to emergency incidents.
16. Willing to be flexible regarding working hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements.
17. Ability to live and work in harsh climatic and austere living conditions to include the potential for moderate to extreme physical danger.
