JOB DESCRIPTION: As our client continue to expand, they are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager (HVAC) to join their growing team. The Sales Manager (HVAC) will be a key player in driving the growth of the company’s HVAC division, leading the development and expansion of the company’s services to clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both new business acquisition and the development of existing accounts. This hybrid role requires a strong background in HVAC sales, installation, and service/maintenance planning, as well as experience setting up and managing an HVAC desk. The role will also require working closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution and service delivery. KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE: New Business Development & Sales Identify and target new business opportunities within the HVAC sector, focusing on contractors, building managers, and large-scale commercial and residential projects. Drive the sales of HVAC systems, installations, and service/maintenance plans to a range of clients. Develop and manage a pipeline of new clients and projects, ensuring growth in both revenue and market share. Sales Strategy & Desk Setup Take the lead in setting up and managing a new HVAC sales desk within the company. Establish processes, pricing strategies, and systems to ensure effective business operations and sales performance. Define and implement sales goals, ensuring the team meets monthly, quarterly, and annual targets. Client Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and contractors to drive repeat business and referrals. Offer expert advice on HVAC system installations, services, and maintenance, addressing client needs and providing tailored solutions. Project Management & Coordination Collaborate with internal teams and engineers to ensure smooth project delivery, from initial sales through to installation and ongoing maintenance. Work with engineers to ensure that HVAC installations meet client requirements and project timelines. Team Leadership & Development Lead and manage the HVAC sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to junior team members. Develop team capabilities and drive a culture of high performance, ensuring that sales objectives and KPIs are met. Maintenance Plans & Service Contracts Promote and sell comprehensive service and maintenance contracts, ensuring that clients have ongoing support and maintenance for their HVAC systems. Work closely with clients to tailor maintenance plans that suit their specific HVAC needs and requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS: Experience At least 5 years of experience in HVAC sales, ideally working for a contractor within the commercial and residential sectors. Proven track record of successfully selling HVAC installation services, systems, and maintenance contracts. Experience setting up and managing an HVAC sales desk or division within a contracting or technical services company. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installations, maintenance, and service plans. Skills Excellent sales, negotiation, and closing skills. Strong understanding of the technical aspects of HVAC systems, including installation and service requirements. Ability to coordinate projects and liaise effectively with both clients and engineering teams. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple sales opportunities and projects simultaneously. Engineers Network Well-established network of HVAC engineers and fitters to support installation and maintenance projects. Education & Certifications A background in mechanical/electrical engineering or similar would be an advantage. Relevant HVAC certifications and qualifications would be a plus.
