Security Officer. Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital – Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). Full time, 33.25 hours per week, 4 on 4 off. 0530-1530 hours 1230-2230 hours Salary - £12.31 per hour, Agenda for Change, plus Serco benefits. Here at Serco, we are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital puts its patients at the heart of everything they do. The Hospital cares for the people of Norfolk, north Suffolk and further afield, providing almost one million out-patient appointments, day case procedures and in-patient admissions every year. The hospital has 1,200 beds and state-of-the art facilities and works closely with the University of East Anglia to train health professionals and have a strong focus on research. Main Accountabilities: As a Security Officer you will deliver a helpful and professional front of house service, providing a polite, efficient, and compassionate service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will offer a security presence at the hospital, carrying out reactive and proactive duties. You will act as first line response to violent and aggressive incidents, investigating reports of theft and producing written reports for all security related incidents. You will provide a proactive approach to crime prevention, by way of physically patrolling the Hospital site and use of installed security systems and offer crime prevention advice to all users of the Hospital. This is an incredibly important role within the Hospital as you are ensuring that patients, staff, and visitors feel and are always kept safe. You must contribute to a team approach with the police on investigations of thefts, criminal acts, or bomb threats, attend court to assist authorities in legal cases and ensure fire safety checks are maintained in accordance with the fire safety policy. What you’ll need to do the role: Previous Security Officer experience, preferably within a large corporate or Hospital setting. Valid SIA Licence. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to remain calm when working under pressure. Ability to demonstrate empathy when dealing with stressful customers. Flexible and confident in all situations. Proven experience of writing restraint reports. Previous experience of working with CCTV is desirable but not essential. What we offer: Salary: Competitive salaries with annual reviews.
