ASD Teaching Assistant | Harrow, HA3 | £90 - £105 per day | Long-Term to Permanent Role | February Start Long Term Futures are seeking a patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive three-form entry primary school in Harrow, HA3. Starting after the half-term break, this role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is currently working at Reception level. Use visual timetables, sensory strategies, and reward systems to engage the child effectively. Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging independence. Adapt classroom activities to suit the pupil's working level and interests. Assist with transitions, ensuring the pupil feels secure and supported throughout the day. Build a strong and positive relationship with the child, fostering a sense of trust and safety. Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement and adapt strategies as needed.The ideal candidate will: Have experience working with children with ASD and/or additional needs. Be confident supporting a child working below age-related expectations. Demonstrate patience, resilience, and creativity in their approach. Have knowledge of or experience using visual aids, sensory tools, and reward systems.
