We are looking to recruit a pre-doctoral researcher to work with the Regulatory Genome Project (RGP) of Cambridge Judge Business School. RGP is a private-public collaboration between CJBS and RegGenome Limited, a spin-out company of the University of Cambridge. The RGP initiative was forged in response to the dynamic shifts in technology and socio-political landscapes and it runs a unique cross-cutting research program between financial regulation and use of AI-NLP application. The RGP is now embarking on cutting-edge research in collaboration with a large government agency.
We are looking for a researcher to join a small team investigating Natural Language Processing problems in the domain of Financial Regulation. The role would be located within the Business School, but the successful candidate would work in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Investigate Natural Language Processing problems in the domain of Financial Regulation.
2. Collaborate with the Department of Computer Science and Technology.
3. Help supervise MPhil/Undergraduate students.
4. Continue developing personal research and publish in leading international journals.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree in Computer Science with postgraduate experience in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.
2. Considerable experience in the finance industry.
3. Experience managing projects and working with students.
4. Good technical skills in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning applied in finance.
5. Strong commitment to research and publications in top refereed academic journals.
6. Good time management and planning skills.
7. Enthusiastic team member who is driven and committed.
This is a fixed-term appointment for one year.
