Job Overview
The Supply Officer plays a crucial role in managing and optimising the supply chain processes within the warehouse of our organisation. This position is responsible for ensuring that all materials and supplies are procured efficiently and effectively to meet operational needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. 1 in 3 Sunday cover paid at overtime rate.
Duties
1. Act as the primary contact between storage Clients and Chiltern Distribution Limited (CDL) ensuring effective communication and service delivery.
2. Liaise with the transport department on orders that require processing through the warehouse, ensuring all detail is understood and information is given to the warehouse.
3. Process any orders coming through via customer portal/systems, ensuring the appropriate paperwork is handed to the Warehouse Team for assembling and loading the orders on the appropriate vehicle.
4. Liaise with the transport department around stock trailers and advise the warehouse team on what needs to be unloaded and when.
5. Support the warehouse team by liaising with transport on returns/rejections coming back to the warehouse to maintain stock management.
6. Support the warehouse team with weekly stock takes, ensuring all relevant paperwork is provided and produced to support a clean process.
7. Assist the Warehouse Manager with investigations into deviations against process or customer SLA’s, providing data and evidence to support this.
8. Process weekly invoices for storage charges to customers, ensuring data is accurate and invoices are raised in a timely manner.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics is essential.
2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
3. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are required.
4. Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
