About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the educational team, working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs. Your role will involve supporting individual students and small groups to help them engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom.
* Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and help adapt learning materials to meet the needs of each student.
* Support the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and promoting positive interactions among students.
* Help to monitor and record students' progress, reporting any concerns to the SENCo or class teacher.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages students' confidence and participation.
About You:
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
