Job Title: Sister/Charge Nurse
Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week (Weekends, bank holidays and nights)

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure patient safety is maintained.
2. Undertake assessment, planning and evaluation of patients.
3. Promote a culture of demonstrable best practice and integrated evidence-based practice.
4. Provide clinical advice, support and education to professions/staff and patients.
5. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues within the ward.
6. Understand the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty and apply it in clinical practice.
7. Identify patients at risk and manage referrals in line with Trust Policy and Procedure.
8. Provide support and care for the patient and their family respecting their need for privacy and dignity.
9. Be professionally responsible for adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
10. Produce clear, fluent, concise and easily understood written communications.
11. Carry out nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with approved procedures.
12. Ensure the delivery of evidence-based nursing care in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
13. Continue own professional development in line with NMC guidelines and NMC revalidation.
14. Maintain clinical competence of self and others as determined by service need and job descriptions.
15. Ensure that risk assessments are complete as per Trust policy for manual handling, health & safety and other relevant areas of concern.
16. Ensure that equipment and the environment supports the delivery of high standards of care at all times.
17. Participate and prioritise developments within the Service as part of the Strategic/business planning.
18. Assist with the management of ward resources in an efficient and effective manner.
19. Ensure information on the ward information system is correct and updated regularly.
20. Undertake staff appraisals and create a learning environment which facilitates learning and professional development.
