About The Role
What is the role?
The Planning Engineer is responsible for scheduling and tracking the completion of the site's preventative maintenance, repair, and outage work, such as plant and equipment overhaul and major equipment replacement. This role also involves directing supplemental maintenance contractors and specialty contractor assistance as required.
What you will be doing?
Please see below a brief overview of the role and the responsibilities:
* Operates and maintains the facility’s computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
* Ensures recommended preventative maintenance for all facility assets are entered in the CMMS
* Publishes the weekly/monthly maintenance work orders, encompassing the operations and maintenance departments
* Manages and schedules injected defect work in the maintenance plan.
* Attends daily meetings with the operations team to agree on future planned work and plant status requirements.
* Maintains a minimum backlog of open work orders in order to efficiently control the work of the maintenance department
* Combines each sub-contractor’s programme of works into a master programme and identifies any conflicts in activities (prior to the commencement date).
Qualifications & Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job:
* ONC/HNC in an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Formally trained in Electrical, Mechanical, C&I, DCS maintenance is desirable.
* Experience in CMMS
* Experience in energy from waste, power generation, or similar industry preferred.
* Extensive experience with Microsoft Projects and/or other planning software.
* Will have experience of using safe systems of work and be capable of creating and assessing/approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
