Your Role
and What You'll Be Doing
First impressions count and our team has a key role in setting the high standard of service that our clients expect of Irwin Mitchell. As part of the team, you’ll work with clients and colleagues to successfully onboard our consumer clients and ensure they are set up with the correct funding agreements for their matters.
As a Client Funding Advisor, you’ll be responsible for sending important documentation out to clients and providing clear oral explanations to ensure they are comfortable with our funding agreements. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of colleagues within the department and the legal service areas to work through any client funding requirements, and to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
1. Client Documentation: The advisor ensures that all necessary documentation related to funding is completed accurately and in a timely manner. This will involve preparing the pre-contract letter, terms of business, cost estimate letters and other relevant documents depending on the matter type, adding these to the client file and scheduling a client call to provide the oral explanation to gain client consent
2. Workload and diary management: Managing workflow pipeline, allocation of new requests and scheduling regular follow up and agreement over client contact to ensure exceptional client experience.
3. Client Consent: The advisor will ensure that any client queries in relation to funding are managed appropriately in order to gain client consent over the phone and to allow the fee-earner to progress the case in a timely manner
4. Communication and Customer Focus: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as partners, fee-earners, and other teams, to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of centralised funding requests. Build strong relationships across Client Services and with the fee earning teams.
5. Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations to Team Leader on any improvements to processes and/or procedures, developing themes with colleagues that they may become aware of as part of the day to day to activities

6. Excellent communication skills at all levels
7. Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to follow defined policies and procedures
8. Strong grammar and punctuation skills.
9. Professional telephone and face-to-face manner
10. Ability to work under pressure, both within a team and individually.
11. Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to organise and prioritise workload
12. IT Skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe)
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
