Ward 4 is a 30 bedded Stroke Unit which is recruiting amotivated and driven Band 7 Ward Manager to lead and manage their team. This isan exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced registered nurse who ishighly motivated and enthusiastic, with a keen interest in caring for patientswith Acute Stroke needs.

The post holder will lead the Nursing team inproviding care to patients acting under the supervision of the Matron. The postholder should work effectively within a team environment, have goodcommunication skills, initiative, demonstrate enthusiasm about the role andshare our passion and vision for providing high quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide leadership, clinicalexpertise and organisation of the stroke ward assuming twenty four hourresponsibility for the effective management of the ward itself.
they will continuously develop and enhance knowledge and skillsthat will directly influence consistent standards of clinical practice andensure the highest possible standards of evidence based care are achieved inorder to promote patient focused care.
The post holder will lead and manage the ward team and directlymanage the ward budget. They will alsocontribute to overall service improvement and day-to-day management of thehospital.
They will promote patient centred high quality evidencebased care to patients on the ward, ensuring the patient is central to allaspects of treatment and care.
Responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient useof all resources within a defined clinical area, as well as controlling wardexpenditure and management of the ward budget.
Communicate effectively with all the multi- disciplinaryteams both internal and external to the organisation.
Provide clinical leadership to a group of staff within theward and throughout the care group.

Registered General Nurse with current NMC Registration.
Evidence of working in a leadership/management role.
Evidence of relevant academic achievement at degree level orequivalent experience and evidence of continuous professional development.
Proven ability in teaching others via a teaching andassessment qualification or relevant experience
