MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious precision engineering/manufacturing client, based in Northumberland, by recruiting a permanent Design Engineer to join their growing organisation. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to resolve customer requirements. Manage projects and provide engineering support to customers and internal departments to develop innovative technical solutions to meet both customer and our clients expectations.
The Job You'll Do:
1. Act as principal point of contact for customers' engineers.
2. Responsible for the generation of thermal management solutions to customer's requirements.
3. Manage individual projects allocated, creating engineering designs using 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
4. Raise PO Requests for materials, equipment, and subsequent responsibility for the prototype build and test.
5. Liaise with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to ensure a smooth transition into manufacture, ensuring that any processes introduced meet Customer requirements.
6. Work with and support the Sales Department function.
7. Maintain and archive Customer related information in accordance with Departmental procedures.
8. Work with due regard to Health and Safety requirements.
9. Ensure that 5S housekeeping targets are achieved in areas of control.
10. Support the Engineering function when other Engineers are not available.
About You:
1. HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar level of experience.
2. Ideally, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, but this is not essential.
3. Knowledge of 3D CAD design for machined components or assemblies.
4. 3-4 years engineering experience in a design, development, and manufacturing environment.
5. Familiar with the use of SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) to generate models and drawings.
