We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Agricultural Operator to join a dedicated and forward-thinking team operating in the scenic Pembrokeshire area. This hands-on position involves overseeing the daily operations of potato farming from planting through to harvesting, ensuring effective crop management and high-quality yields. Reporting to the Arable Manager, you will work closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the farm while implementing a comprehensive crop nutrition and protection program across the main crop potatoes, winter brassicas, and both forage and non-forage crops. With a strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail, you will welcome the opportunity to collaborate in a dynamic environment that embraces new technologies and advancements. Role Responsibilities: ● To confidently operate a range of farm machinery, including potato planters, sprayers, seed drills, irrigation equipment and other related harvesting equipment in a safe and efficient manner ● To maintain accurate records of chemicals used, applications methods and rates etc ● To follow all farm safety protocols and industry best practice ● To perform routine servicing and maintenance of machinery, along with general workshop duties ● To work collaboratively with the broader farm team ● To keep updated on industry best practice and advancements in technology that could benefit the farm Skills you will need: Essential: ● A proven broad experience in operating agricultural machinery ● A strong understanding of arable practices and crop protection techniques ● PA1, PA2 and PA4 qualifications ● Organised with excellent attention to detail ● Good routine workshop skills ● Good communication skills, able to converse with farm staff and external advisors ● Adaptable and dedicated, able to respond and support during busy periods ● A collaborative team member who can also work independently when required ● Driven, enthusiastic and hardworking ● UK driving licence Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience.
