Main duties of the job Preparing patients for theatre. Post-Operative care of patients (under the supervision of Registered Nurse) who have undergone surgery. Assist patients in meeting their hygiene needs and carry out all aspects of personal care and grooming Recording of patients observations. General observations of patients, reporting anything untoward to Registered Nursing Staff. Documentation of care plans on PENS Preparation and serving of patient's meals, drinks and snacks. Assisting / feeding patients as necessary.Reports patients dietary intake as indicated in the patients plan of careCarry out any movement and handling within the safe practice guidelines from mandatory training and in relation to the patient's manual handling plan.Assist in the prevention of pressure sore development as directed by the Registered nurse in conjunction with the patient's plan of care.Obtaining specimens from patients for ward or laboratory testing.Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients and carers.
