My client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.

Ideally with 5 years of industry work experience with an extensive understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Marine / Automotive / Commercial vehicles experience
Experience leading work packages on their own
Proven experience in product development and product release
Ability to design systems from first principles such as hand calculations, circuitry derivation, electrical systems design etc.
Understanding of industry standard and how these are applied to designs
Design and implement systems: Design electrical systems for buildings, power distribution networks, and transportation systems
Test and inspect: Conduct tests and inspections to ensure systems and equipment are safe, efficient, and reliable
Analyse systems: Identify hazards, defects, and the need for repairs
Manage projects: Schedule construction and maintenance projects, and ensure they are delivered on time
Collaborate: Work with management, engineers and technicians to design and apply new systems
Provide technical leadership: Provide technical support and leadership to employees and contractors
Ensure compliance: Ensure systems and equipment comply with codes, safety standards, and customer requirements
Prepare specifications: Prepare specifications for purchasing electrical equipment and materials
Perform calculations: Perform calculations to establish standards and specifications
Estimate costs: Estimate material, labour, and construction costs for budgeting
Basic understanding of CFD
Roles and responsibilities
Reporting to the design and engineering manager you will be expected to:
Support our apprenticeship scheme.
Lead and take ownership of work packages from concept through to manufacture To include - design specification, customer relationships, project management, product design for manufacture.
Complete FMEA activities where required.
Contribute to the production of new innovations.
Support the manufacturing team where required.
Contribute to shop floor activities when required.
Lead - Quality / Healthy & Safety / environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with all the relevant standards.
Managing and monitoring Engineering change notifications and corrective actions reporting.
Create test and development plans
Your skills and education
Ideally a bachelor's degree in an electrical discipline Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Electronic Engineering
Full UK licence with own vehicle
Experienced with an industry standard CAD package.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work alone, as a team and lead others when required.
Demonstrate a high level of motivation, innovation and initiate with an ability to train others.
Someone who enjoys a challenge and doesn't get deterred by setbacks.
